We Debut at the New Delhi World Book Fair 2019!

We were hugely emotional as we brought down our stall tonight, bit by bit. What a fantastic experience our very first New Delhi World Book Fair has been. Unbelievable how quickly these nine days flew by. And unbelievable how a lifetime of memories they have left us with. Hugs going out to everyone who came down to meet, help, buy, support and doggy pat-pat encourage us. We have each of you in our thoughts. We couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you!

Our founder and publisher Richa Jha was featured this morning in the Sunday Standard. She talks about her early influences and the challenges in writing for children. What finally made to the print was an edited version of the actual interview. Thank you, Shillpi A Singh for making this possible.

Two Panels, One Theme: We Need Diverse Books

Two Panels, One Theme: We Need Diverse Books

We have had an interesting few weeks in Delhi. As the temperature begins to dip, the city is transforming into a veritable festival ground for literature events, storytelling soirees, lit-picnics, food and cultural digs for children and adults alike.

We’ve had the glorious opportunity to be a part of some exciting conversations among the stakeholders in India’s kidlit macrocosm. Our founder and publisher Richa Jha was on two panels The first such event was a panel discussion ‘Books as Mirrors: Differencing the Canon in Children’s Literature’ as part of IHC-ILF Samanvay Children’s and Young Adults’ Literature Weekend.

The second happened as part of the annual Bookaroo Lit Fest celebrations – ‘Drawing Lines: How well are we handling diversity while illustrating for children’.

We hope to be a part of many more meaty, meaningful conversations that help bridge the gaping diversity gaps in the literature that we bring out for children in India.
