Nayantara is an Illustrator and Visual Designer
After graduating from Srishti School of Art, Design & Technology (Bangalore) in 2012, she worked as a Senior Designer at Myntra and Quikr (Bangalore) and as a Design Consultant for brands like Global Desi and Vedanta Academy, before joining Therefore Design (Pune) as a full-time Lead Designer.
In 2019, she set up her own company – PastelStew – and has since worked with social impact organisations and tech startups to design their visual language and illustration systems – from Sugar.fit (subsidiary of Cult.fit) an app that helps users manage and reverse diabetes, to AskDoki by YLabs, an NLP AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot for adolescents in Kenya seeking sexual and reproductive health education.
She uses her craft to tell relatable, witty, and thought-provoking stories about mental health, gender, socio-cultural stereotypes, and everyday life through illustrations, animation, and short comics. Her work is colourful, detailed, intentionally playful and full of whimsy.
She is also an internationally-published and awarded children’s book illustrator, having worked with publishing houses such as Karadi Tales, Pickle Yolk Books, Reycraft Books (NYC), and NGOs like Kalpavriksh.
When she’s not working, she’s juggling, baking, dancing, working out, learning new stuff, and being swallowed whole by YouTube and Netflix.
