Mom and Dad completely lose the plot the day the Wifi stops working in the house. In a role reversal of sorts, it’s up to little Shivi to get her bored and tantrum-throwing parents to see that there is a perfectly wonderful life to be enjoyed beyond their screen-craze. Mithila Ananth’s zany, whimsical digital illustrations with a minimal neat colour palette and a touch of quiet humour throw into sharp focus Richa Jha’s funny story done as a second person narrative. Together, they draw the reader right into the centre of this book’s relatable universe.

Author Note: Richa Jha is a writer and an author of picture books for children, and the founder publisher of Pickle Yolk Books. Her books have won several prestigious awards in India and internationally, including the Crossword Book Award, Publishing Next Industry Awards, Neev Book Award, Parag Honour list, Comic Con Book Awards, The White Ravens and the South Asia Book Awards among others.

Illustrator Note: Mithila Ananth (A.K.A Doodlekaari on the internet) is an illustrator and designer based in Bangalore, India. She is a self-taught artist and has been illustrating for the past 3 years now (after quitting her 9 to 5 job!). Her art style is uncomplicated and playful with a touch of humour and plenty of colours. Her debut children’s picture book – “The Manic Panic” written by Richa Jha, published under Creston Books – came out in 2018 in the US.

Short Bios: Richa Jha breathes-reads-writes-publishes-dreams picture books and knows she has the funnest hobby cum profession in the world. When not illustrating books and dreaming up characters, Mithila Ananth can be found smelling books, collecting stationery and hobbies, and relaxing with the 90s cartoons. She likes happy endings. She lives in Bengaluru, India.

Accolades and Awards: Shortlisted for Jarul Book Awards 2019 and Peek-a-Book Children’s Choice Award 2018 * Selected as the ’50 Most Magical Books of the Summer 2018′ by Scholastic US.

One Line Description: A young girl’s attempt to get her screen-crazy parents to enjoy an unplugged day.
