Maria Martinez is an illustrator, graphic designer and teacher of plastic arts living in Barcelona, Spain. While her notebooks had always been filled with doodles, it was her work with kindergarten children that made her realize her passion for creating for young readers. Her first picture book dealt with the adventures of an autistic child.
A dreamer and an eternal optimist, she finds beauty in little details around her. When not getting lost and tangled in her brushstrokes while dreaming of characters whose worlds she would like to inhabit, she can be found cooking, listening to music, travelling, meeting people, laughing and watching others laugh, and enjoying a good coffee with a good conversation on a terrace.
